TMS320F280049C-Q1: 049 question about the EPWM XBAR / GPIO OUTPUT XBAR ?

Part Number: TMS320F280049C-Q1

Champs:

#1.

My customer has surveyed this E2E

https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000-microcontrollers-group/c2000/f/c2000-microcontrollers-forum/1115940/tms320f280049-adc-and-cmpss-configuration-for-f280049

#2.

Now, his questions are:

Currently, in my application, some of the CMPSS CTRIPs are routed through EPWM XBAR and configured as either CBC mode or OST.

       I'd like to inquire:

  1. Whether using OST mode would mitigate the ADC accuracy issue? thereby allowing the simultaneous usage of ADC and CMPSS on the same pin?

2..Conversely, CBC mode is not recommended?

3..Is there any evidence or some reports regarding the accuracy issue when simultaneously using CMPSS and ADC?

Please comment, thanks.

  • Hi Rio,

Only if the CMPSS trip is routed to GPIO, then noise coupling will occur with ADC conversions through the VDDIO domain (where GPIO power is derived).  If only through EPWM XBAR, then that should not have an impact on ADC conversions.  CBC will make the noise coupling worse compared to OST only if the CMPSS trip signal is passed to GPIO, but if not then CBC/OST should not matter.

  • Hi Joseph:

    Thanks for the replying.

Is the mechanism the same on the P65?

Sorry, my customer is continuing asking these kind of questions for P65, due to they are studying P65 as well.

plz confirm if P65 is the same.

  • Hi Rio,

Let us continue discussing this offline.  For now, closing this thread.

    Thanks,
