LAUNCHXL-F280049C: Example: sci-ex4_echoback error

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F280049C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi,

I am try to test my launchpad "launchxl-f280049c" and referring the "TMS320F28004x Microcontroller Workshop" manual.

There is a procedure to test SCI example(sci-ex4_echoback) in the manual from page 274.

But the program always blocks at line 184 and the returned rxStatus value is "10110000b".

The terminal received nothing as the matter course even the "hello world".

What should I do to run this example normally?

  • Hi Yukai,

The older PDF Workshops are no longer maintained today and have been instead updated and adapted to be non-device-specific labs within our C2000 Academy today. You can find our C2000 Academy SCI lab here. Please import the software solution for this lab into CCS and let me know if you are able to run it Slight smile the solution can be found in:

{C2000Ware}\training\device\f28004x\communication_peripherals\lab_sci. From there, you can find an example specific to your board (launchpad vs. controlcard), so please use the launchpad version if that is what you have.

We have additional SCI examples in C2000Ware located at: {C2000Ware}\driverlib\f28004x\examples\sci

    Best Regards,

    Allison

  • Hi Allison,

As you said, the failed example (sci-ex4_echoback) was imported from "C:\ti\C2000Ware_5_02_00_00\driverlib\f28004x\examples\sci\CCS".

The C2000 SDK is Ver. 5.02.00.

    Is this version still work?

If it is, what issue is possible I met?

I will try the lab_sci either, thanks.

  • Hi Yukai,

I just imported the same project from the same C2000Ware SDK version (5.02.00) and ran it on F280049C Launchpad and saw the correct message in the terminal; the project is building and running as expected. There should be no issue here.

Are you modifying the program at all? Or just importing it and running it? Can you try stepping through the code to see at what point the program jumps to ESTOP0?

    Best Regards,

    Allison

  • Hi Allison,

I apologise for this stupid issue.

The cause of this issue is the switch "S6" is at a wrong position.

    Thanks for your support.

  • No worries! Happens to the best of us Slight smile glad you resolved the issue!

    Best Regards,

    Allison
