TMS320F280049C: Live firmware upgrade issue

Seems like the Flashing/programming operations aren't going through correctly.

One thing to check when you're programming the Bank1 kernel is that the ccxml target config file you're using is setup to only erase necessary flash sectors, and not erase all flash sectors.

Thereafter, when you program the Bank0 App with the Bank1 Kernel, open the memory browser in CCS and ensure that the keys are programmed, the versions are updated etc.

Another aspect is to look into what C2000Ware version is being used?

Also, are you using F28004x or can you switch to F28003x? Our LFU implementation on F28003x is more robust and validated than F28004x.

I am doing the same for ccxml target file. 

To program kernel in flash bank0 i am keeping it "erase all sectors " and to program kernel in Bank1 i am keeping it "erase necessary sectors".  Earlier i was keeping "erase necessary sector" for both BANKs as mentioned in SPRUIU8a.  But i changed this after reading :

I have verified programmed bootloader(for both BANKs)  in CCS memory browser window. All parameters are reflecting correctly. 

I have also taken reference from TIDM-02011 and tried loading kernel with Build "BANK0_LDFU_ROM" and "BANK1_LDFU_ROM". But same behavior. I have tried all possible permutation and combination.  

I am using C2000Ware version 5.02.00.00 with CCS Theia version 1.4.0.12.  I am using LAUNCHXL - F280049c.

It seems like you are following the correct steps.

I recall there was an issue with the F28004x Flash kernel that caused an issue like the one you are seeing. If I recall correctly, the issue was resolved by

- switching to the _ROM configuration (which you said you tried) AND

- switching the C2000Ware versions (I think you should try an older version e.g. 4.03 or earlier).

Hi Sira, 

I have tried with version 4.01.00.00.

Picked up up both example( "flashapi_ex2_sci_kernel" and "flashapi_ex3_live_firmware_update") from C2000ware version 4.01.00.00. I tried it with with _ROM configuration as well as _FLASH configuration. But still facing same issue.

Let me see if I can dig up the version where it worked. In the meantime, can you go further back (if possible) and try, say, 3.03/3.02?
