TMS320F280049C: Memory Power-On Self-Test / Programmable Build In Self-Test

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

Tool/software:

Hi team,

related to an previous e2e post I need to double check this again.

The Functional Safety Manual for TMS320F28004x document lists, among others, the Memory Power-On Self-Test (MPOST) diagnostic, as follows:

As far as I have been able to check in the available documentation applicable for the MCU we are using (TMS320F280049CPZQ-Q1), this device does not include a PBIST module.
Could you please confirm this?

Thanks

Jens

  • Jens,

The MPOST feature on F28004x has been deprecated due to the issues listed in the related thread you posted at the top of this one, namely that the execution time of the MPOST was not practical for most customers to absorb in the boot up time of the device.

We suggest using equivalent March13n algo that is part of the SDL SW library delivered with this device as it will provide the same coverage as the MPOST, but with flexibility on run time by the main application.

    Best,

    Matthew
