TMS320F280039C: User's OTP checksum should be same?

Part Number: TMS320F280039C

Tool/software:

Hi Champs,

I am asking this for our customer.

The user uses OTP for boot mode change, etc.

The user wants to confirm the programmed OTP content is correct.

After programming OTP once, the user can read back all user's OTP in red box below from 0x78000 to 0x78BFF and compare them with one another.

The result should be the same.

They may use any kind of checksum/CRC algorithm like TI checksum for this  user's OTP 0x78000 to 0x78BFF and the result should be the same.

That is, this user's OTP should be the same for user's code. There is no TI information like calibration data, unique ID inside.

Is our understanding correct?

  • Hi Wayne,

You're correct. There are some "default" values in USER OTP where some bits are already programmed to a 0 and cannot be reprogrammed to a 1. Other than that there's no calibration data or unique IDs in the USER OTP. The DCSM portion of USER OTP (0x78000 to 0x783FF) should also be respected to avoid programming unwanted security or boot settings.

    Thank you,

    Luke
