Tool/software:
I am having the same issue with importing a project. ("launch.json is not a valid JSON file. Missing debug configuration properties" when clicking the debug project button)
I'm running CCS version 20.0.0.12__1.6.0 and imported a=a project that is working under Version: 12.1.0.00007.
The instructions in the related case are not clear / don't work for me. A launch.json file is not created for me.
Are there complete instructions on importing projects from an older version of CCS that deal with this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
Hi Paul,
Looks like the launch.json needs to be created for your project. Here's a link with more information on the file: https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/users_guide_ccs_theia/ccs_debug-main.html
I will recommend that you reference the following post on how to update the launch.json for your project. Please reference this other forum post for more information on how to go about resolving this discrepancy.

No good. I still have not been able to create a launch.json file under CCS 20.
I’m trying to import project: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_4_02_00_00\device_support\f2837xd\examples\cpu1\emif_dc_cpu
This project has been imported previously and worked successfully in CCS 12.
I’m attempting to use C2000 LaunchPAD XL TMS320F28379D Ver 2.0 eval board.
Please advise.
Updating to 20.0.1 seems to have resolved the issue. (Uninstalled 20.0.0 and installed 20.0.1)
Paul,
Glad to hear that. Thank you for the update. Looks like there were some updates to the compiler as part of that release (https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/CCSv20/CCS_20_0_1/exports/CCS_20.0.1_ReleaseNote.htm#_Toc185421488)
