Tool/software:
Hi TI Team,
We are following up on our previous discussion regarding the Flash-based SBL (Original thread: F29-SDK: F29 Flash/UART Booting Inquiry).
Our customer faces a critical issue during Mass Production (MP) due to a conflict arising from two constraints:
-
Locked Boot Mode: The device is configured in Locked Flash Boot Mode.
-
UART Conflict: The existing Flash-based SBL solution still relies on the UART interface for communication with the host PC programmer to transfer the image. However, the customer's final application will occupy this UART port, making it unavailable for programming during MP.
The Flash-based SBL only solves the booting issue; it does not resolve the communication conflict.
Our request is urgent: Since the UART port will be blocked by the application, can TI provide an alternative, non-UART programming solution for the F29 when the SBL is running from flash?
We need to know if there is a way to adapt or utilize other interfaces, such as CAN or SPI, for image loading in a mass production environment.
Thank you,
Cesc Yang
