TMS320F280045: CAN bus Communication Acceptance Filtering

Part Number: TMS320F280045

Hi

I am new to the CAN communication and when I was reading the programming manual I got confused on Acceptance filtering.
My specific question is about the acceptance filtering and massage ID mask.
Whenever the CAN engine receives a data frame the frameID is compared with all FrameIDs in Message Object memory to find out if the received data is relivant?  and if it was relivant is get saved in the Message oject?

  • Hey Arash,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I am attaching a quick power point I put together previously that walks through the MCAN RX configuration including the acceptance filtering configurations.

Your understanding is correct, the Frame ID will be compared with the configured stdID and extID message filters, however the action taken on an ID match is configurable, the message can be accepted to an RX Buffer/FIFO or rejected.

Please review this information and let us know if any additional questions arise.
