TMS320F28388D: Clarification on ADC/CMPSS shared-pin accuracy

Guru 14010 points

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

Hi,

I would like to confirm a point regarding the ADC/CMPSS behavior on the TMS320F2838x/F2837x devices.

My understanding is:

  • ADC and CMPSS inputs are internally buffered and separated inside the device.

  • Therefore, using ADC and CMPSS simultaneously on the same physical pin does not degrade ADC accuracy.

  • The only cases that may require attention are high input impedance or very short ADC S/H windows, but normally the two blocks do not interfere with each other.

Question:
Is it correct that enabling CMPSS on a shared pin does not negatively affect ADC sampling accuracy, assuming the recommended input impedance and acquisition settings are followed?

Thanks,

Conor
