unique identifier number in the 2802x and 2803x

Is there any kind of unique identifier number in the 2802x and 3x family than can be read on the die ,OTP or calibration data?

Something does exists in the MPS430;

Is there a similar set of registers to read in the F2802x and F2803x?

  • Hi Jason,

    we don't have such identifier on 2802x and 2803x, although customer could program such identifier in OTP himself and refer to that.

    Can you throw more light on the application use case for such a unique identifier here? What will it be used in the application?

  • I was hoping to avoid using the OTP and having to deal with the headache of having a database of unique identifiers on our production testers and burning the number into OTP. Especially when there is likely already an number hidden somewhere in memory space.

    There must be some registers for factory use that have a unique identifier like die lot number, ect.

    I assume this information has not been made public(even to most TI employee's) on the C2000, although it has been on the MPS430.

  • Jason,

    we are debating this internally and are in the process of collecting different use cases for C2000. Would you be using the identifier in some higher level comms protocols to identify the device node or for something else? can you throw some more light on the possible use case here?

  • This would not be used as a comm address or MAC type address.

    We just want a unique identifier for tracking production. Any unique number (32,64,128bit ect) in the micro would be fine. That way we can read a register(s) and identify the product electronically.

  • Is there any update on this?

  • Hi Jason

    we don't have such identifiers on the parts that you can use. Customers have to program themselves a unique ID in customer OTP.
