How to connect eMMC card to concerto Microcontroller

Hi,

We have a question about the TI F28M36X microcontroller. We have bought the experimentation kit. We are using the F28M36x control card that comes with some drivers and software. On this card, there is an SD card that communicates with the Concerto via SPI protocol. We are now designing a PCB based on this microcontroller, and we want to use a large Flash memory with wear leveling protection. SD cards are not an option, for mechanical reasons, thus we chose to use an eMMC IC instead. However, new eMMC ICs are compatible to JEDEC 4.4x which does not support SPI. So our question is whether there is a solution for interfacing an eMMC Flash memory to the Concerto. Our goal is to make the minimum changes to the software that comes with the board.

Alternatively, if a s/w solution cannot be easily implemented, is there any IC that provides interfacing between SPI and JEDEC 4.41-compatible eMMC?

Thank you
