CCS/TMS320F28035: Issue with c2000 control card debugging through XDS100v1

Hello Guys,

I am using TMS320F28035 MCU based control card for motor control application.

Just to get to know the control card, I used the sample projects (from Control Suite). When I try to debug the application through CCS, I am getting an error -

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -1135 @ 0x0)
The debug probe reported an error. Confirm debug probe configuration and connections, reset the debug probe, and retry the operation.
(Emulation package 6.0.576.0)

I have checked the switch configuration on the board, nothing seems to be wrong with the switch configuration.

Control Card is using - XDS100v1 USB debugger
CCS Version: 7.1.0.00016

Any form of help will be appreciated.

Hi Amjad,

Were you able to load the code before or since start you're unable to communicate? Also, is this a TI controlCard or a custom made one?

Hey Chris,

Here, is the log for all the related information that you might want to understand the issue.

I did refer to the wiki link earlier and the issue at my side seems to be different.

Although, I found one link for xds100v1 wiki -

It talks about the VID/PID (in windows) of the XDS device driver in device manager. And, I can see that VID/PID for my driver is different from which was shown in the link. Refer to attachment and link.

I don't find any place which talks about updating the VID/PID of XDS100v1.

Your switches look to be fine. I don't feel it is related to the VID/PID. At least they are showing correctly in the device manager.
Have you verified that the device isn't locked?

Hello Chris,

I got it working -

So there were two issues :

1- The dock board had some fault, I replaced the docking station and the error changed from 1135 to "The value is '-150' (0xffffff6a).
The title is 'SC_ERR_FTDI_FAIL'"

2- Then I refered to the discussion thread -
"e2e.ti.com/.../1613956

There is some series of steps given, doing which solved my problem.

(1) I ran the 'Test Connection' script in the CCSv6 target configuration tab --> FAIL with log shown in previous post (error code -150)

(2) I ran Debug JTAG GUI tests WITH reset (integrity, broken, path length, given data) --> all tests FAIL with same failure code (error code -150)

(3) I ran Debug JTAG GUI tests WITHOUT reset (integrity, broken, path length, given data) --> all tests PASS

(4) I ran Debug JTAG GUI tests WITH reset (integrity, broken, path length, given data) --> all tests PASS

(5) I ran the 'Test Connection' script in the CCSv6 target configuration tab --> PASS

I don't know the reason behind it. But it worked.
