CCS/TMS320F280049M: ADC and CMPSS modules input signal selected

Part Number: TMS320F280049M

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

The one same analog input can be shared by ADC and CMPSS?  I didn't find the relevant description in 280049 TRM.

Yes, it can be either configured as ADC or Comparator input. You can check the same out in Table 4-1 Pin Attributes of the device datasheet.

  • THX for you reply!
The one analog IO can be set as input of ADC and CMPSS at same time ?

Nope! Only one at a time.

  • Hi Xu,

The ADC and CMPSS inputs don't have muxing. The analog pins can go to ADC, CMPSS and PGA and can be used at the same time by all modules.

If you look at Table 4-1 in the device Data Manual, you will notice there is nothing in the "MUX POSITION" column for the analog pins and this is because there is no muxing at the Analog Subsystem/Analog Pin level. Some of the analog modules eg: CMPSS will have internal muxing to use or not to use the pins. I hope that clears it up for you.
  • You means there are no MUX in analog pins but one pin can be set as input. The flexible usage pin in 5.9 said they can be multiplexed.  f ADC and CMPSS at the same time.

  • Xu,

I'm saying the muxing is in the analog modules. As far as the pin is concerned, it is going into the analog module but the analog module can choose whether or not to use the signal on the pin. For instance, the ADC has a mux to choose which channel/pin to convert and the CMPSS has a mux to choose which pins feed into the positive and negative inputs.
