I was going through the EMIF sdram examples (16bit_sdram_dma, etc) and in the comment section at the top they reference:
//! - External SDR-SDRAM (Micron MT48LC32M16A2 "P -75 C") daughter card.
and similarly in the ex1_16bit_asram example they referenced:
//! - External ASRAM memory (CY7C1041CV33 -10ZSXA) daughter card
I searched the internet and could not find any reference to a SDRAM daughter card and could only find the data sheets for the Micron SDRAM.
As I continued to read through the TMS320F28379D documentation I realized that the J9 connector on the back side of the card is connected to the EMIF pins and appears to be designed for external memory daughter cards. Are there actual external memory daughter cards that can be purchased from either TI, or a 3rd party vendor? Do the comments in the examples references parts that can be purchased (or newer versions of them)? Does the J9 60pin connector - SMT, Hirose DF40C-60DP-0.4V(51) reference some interface standard that I haven't seen before, or is it strictly proprietary to TI?
Hi Gary,

You are right. That is the memory and not the daughter card.
We have an app note about EMIF which you can find here. It should be able to to provide more detail about info you are looking for.
Hope this helps.
