TMS320F28377D: DBRED and DBFED minimum values when using HRPWM

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Hi all,

In the tehcnical reference manual of the TMS320F28377D there is a duty cycle range limitation described in chapter 15.2.4.3 on page 2012. On this page it states the following:

"When using DBREDHR or DBFEDHR, DBRED and/or DBFED (the register corresponding to the edge with hi-resolution displacement) must be greater than or equal to 3."

But on page 2018 in chapter 15.2.5 it states the following:

"Just like the duty cycle restrictions when using HRPWM, the DBRED and DBFED values must be greater than 3 to use hi-res deadband."

Which one of the two statements is the right one? Because for my application I need a very small deadband, and now I don't know if I need to set it to 3 or 4.

Many thanks,

Erik

  • Hi Erik,

This is a typo in the document. Only the first three cycles are restricted (0, 1, 2). You should be fine with a value of 3. I'll submit a ticket to get this updated.
