Hi Sirs,

About TMS320F28335 errata issue: Memory Possible Incorrect Operation of XINTF Module After PowerUp.  

We had two questions as below

1>     Why this problem only happen in some chip?

2>     Why we change the setting of XCLKOUT will improve the problem?

    Neal,

    When any module is not reset properly, some of the internal logic is going to have an unknown, uninitialized "random" value. Certain [random] values are benign to the overall module, whereas other values can have detrimental effects.

    For improper resets during power up, the random value may have a statistical preference (that varies between devices) to be either logic 1 or 0. One cause of this is parasitic leakage that acts upon an internal logic net. If, for example, the leakage toward VDD is stronger than the leakage toward VSS, then the net will most likely resolve to a logic 1 at power up.

    As pertains to your question, you can expect to see variations in behavior between devices based on their individual tendencies to resolve uninitialized logic to either benign or detrimental values.

    I will abstain from speculating as to why changing XCLKOUT may improve the behavior of an improperly reset XINTF module.

    Hi Tommy,

                     Thank you so much for your reply.

                    Now, we used TPS3806I33-Q1 reset IＣ connect to TMS320F28335 XRS pin. we measured the reset time around 1.2ms and that time match below spec.

    We follow below link to modifies code to test. the issue was solved.

    Vivek advised me that the issue you referenced in the other thread was also resolved by following the advisory workaround and no additional investigation was conducted to explain why some of their devices were affected by XCLKOUT clock frequency.
