TMS320F2812: 3.3V External Oscillator

Part Number: TMS320F2812

Hi,

My customer has the following question:

In one design I missed the fact that external oscillator voltage should be 0 - 1.9V (VDD) and used 3.3V device.
How critical is this a problem. There is series damping resistor.
There are 1.8V oscillators out there or I can downshift level to 1.9V too in the new designs.
Should I go back and fix voltage level in this current one?

Thanks,

Chuchen
