On the datasheet for the 'F28377S, there is the VREGENZ pin, which says "Internal voltage regulator enable with internal pulldown. The internal VREG is not supported and must be disabled. Connect VREGENZ to VDDIO.".
The VDD pin description says "If the internal 1.2-V VREG is used, ... distribute 12 µF to 26 µF evenly across all VDD pins. If an external supply is used, TI recommends a minimum total capacitance of 20 µF."
Is "the internal VREG" described in the VREGENZ pin description the same "internal 1.2-V VREG" mentioned in the VDD pin description? If so, I am confused, because if the VREG must be disabled and is not supported, wouldn't I also always need to use an external supply to drive the 1.2 V VDD? Or is this referring to something else?
