TMS320F28069M: Calling TMS320F28069M and InstaSPIN-MOTION for a challenge!

Part Number: TMS320F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Dear Sir,

I would like to use the greatly featured  F28069M and InstaSPIN-MOTION for designing 8 different types of servomotor drives.The servomotors are of 3-phase stator, brushless 8-to-10 poles rotor with integrated incremental encoder and electromagnetic brake. The servomotor rated voltage and DC link voltage is 350 Vdc.

For this application I am planning to design a single type of control PCB for all servomotor drives despite of the motors power variations and for each servomotor I am going to use the appropriate isolated gate driver and power switches (and peripherals) on another PCB according to each motor power rating.

You are kindly requested to;

1- Advise if I have chosen the best device for this application.

2- Advise the best and appropriate road map achieving my purpose.

3- Advise if I can program every and each control PCB based for each application using the USB and the JTAG emulator completely and tune each controller with the relevant servomotor.

4- Advise if I am going to need any other requirements.

Best Regards;

Adel Najafi

  • Hello,

    Yes, the F28069M should be a good choice for this. You can use a JTAG emulator to program your device. How you tune the application for each motor depends on how you write your software, but yes, you could use USB or JTAG for this.

    Some of your questions are a little too broad for me to answer, especially not knowing the details of your project, but if you have specific questions about the F28069M and MotorWare, we can help with that.

  • Is this a sensored or sensorless application?
