Hello,

I am working on the closed loop control of Permanent magnet machines using the direct torque control method (DTC), with the TMS320F28377S controller. It would be of immense help if anyone could provide some sample reference codes for Direct Torque Control method.

There are some sensor/sensorless-FOC of PMSM in controlSUITE and motorWare, but TI doesn't have the whole DTC reference code for PMSM till now. Maybe, you might try to get one from some websites.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried looking for the same,but, could not find anything relevant. Hence, I raised the question in this forum. It would be of great help if you could please suggest some resources for the same.

Hi Yanming,

I have done the simulations in MATLAB/SIMULINK for DTC of PMSM. Now, I need to implement the same in hardware by TMS320F28377S. Could you please suggest some way to make use of the Simulink model for the Hardware implementation?

Is it needed to write the entire DSP code from scratch or can the Simulink model be of some use for the Hardware work?

You might not need to write any code if your Simulink mode supports embedded coder, and more detailed information could be found in below link.

Hi Pallab,

Yanming is correct, and the link he posted (which I helped author) has good info on the MathWorks solution to implement your algorithm on a C2000 device.

The easiest way to get started is to use our Embedded Coder Support Package for Texas Instruments C2000 Processors, which includes documentation and examples. There are links to videos which show you the workflow in that E2E post.

Thanks a lot for your inputs. I have some more doubts as I am new to this. Please let me know if the code generated from the embedded coder be corrected or changed by the user as per suitability. Also, can the variable input parameters be controlled in that case?

Hi Pallab,

As talked above, TI didn't have a reference code for DTC of PMSM till now, and I didn't have any such code on hand to share with you. Maybe, you could try to use Simulink coder to generate such code based on your simulation model.
