control card: C2803X 

I am having the same issue.After opening GUI error pops up saying "Target couldn't connect. Make sure engine is connected and is ready to receive the connection request".

But I am able to  program the board using CCS .

    Could you please provide more detailed information? Which GUI? Which controlCard?
    1. Make sure the "SWItCH" on controlCard is correct connection selection.
    2. Make sure the target code (.out) is right. Did you re-load the code to the controller of controlCard?

    Card: C2803X REV1.3
    KIT: DRV8312 RevD

    1> the switch positions are correct. SW3 is OFF.

    2>There are two OUT files InstaSPIN-BLDC_GUI_DRV83xx_v104 and DRV8312GUIv5.out that came with TI Flash drive and i tried with both.For programming I had to keep the SWITCH SW3 to ON (bottom) position.Once programming was done I turned OFF the switch to disconnect the JTAG and boot from flash.I tried the resp .exe file but it still gives the same error.
