TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: 24V motor development for SM320F28335-HT

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT

Hi There

i'm looking at using the SM320F28335-HT for a high temperature motor application, i already have the TMDSCNCD28335 plug in module and TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT motor dev kit. The issue i have is thaat i'd like to interface to a 24V motor. (note, its unopened and i will send it back if not suitable)

Question 1) can i simply supply TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT with 24V DC? (i know its HV but the literature doesn't  specify a minimum voltage.

question 2) if the above isn't possible can can i buy a DRV8301-69M-KIT and simply change the card (from the TMDSCNCD28069MISO to the TMDSCNCD28335)? or is there lots of modifications i would need to make?

Kind Regards

  • Q1, Yes, you can do this, just to use the 24V DC power supply instead of the AC power supply on P1 connector.
Q2, Right, this is a good choice for low voltage high current motor, it can support all C2000 controlCard, just need to change the device configuration file on GPIO, ADC PWM... modules.
  • Just an update for anybody else reading this post: i have now successfully used a 24V BLDC motor with dev kit, i will say as the GUI is sensorless the motor struggles o start and you have to help it get going - fine once its moving. i suspect at 24 the back emf resolution is very low at 24V

    kind regards
