Hey,

I bought this power supply https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/embedded-switch-mode-power-supplies-smps/1618227/ to power this motor https://www.mclennan.co.uk/product/bl180-h04-h-57mm-brushless-dc-motor-180w-48v through the DRV8312-C2-KIT. I had no problems with the GUI (specifically InstaSPIN-BLDC_GUI_DRV83xx_v104) but when I connect the output of the power supply (48V) to PVDDIN I get an over-voltage error in the GUI. My understanding was that this kit could handle up to 52V.

Any idea what the issue could be? Thanks for taking the time.

The over voltage fault is tripped by software setting, there are under and over voltage protection in the project if the dc bus voltage is not in the range from 19.2V to 28.8V.

Is there a way of removing this software limitation? Or is it only possible to run such a motor through a Simulink model?

You can import the project in the below folder, and change the protection value in the project, rebuild the project to program the new .out to the controller of the controlCard.

C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8312-C2-KIT_v128\GUI_project

To find below code in the project, and change Max_VDC and Min_VDC. The number 2880 means 28.80V.
