hello guys, i want just to know how could i sense the position and speed of 3 phase bldc using hall sensors and ecap block in simulink.

From C2000 side, the hall signal can be sampled by eCAP module, and then calculate the speed and angle based on the input signal. The angle and position calculation method is based on what control mode you want to implement, trapezoidal or sinusoidal control. You might find some BLDC control example projects in controlSUITE that implement trapezoidal control based hall signal.

hello yanming luo i am new with texas micro controllers have a problem in ecap i have read it in the technical reference and i understood the concept but the output is t1 i need the output to be t1-t2 to determine the time between two sensors i am using sinusoidal control

where t1 and t2 time of first and second hall sensors and the difference between them is the required time to measure speed

Hi Omar,

If i understand your question correctly, you would like to use two ECAPs to time-stamp two different signals and then find the delta? If that's the case then yes, you can do this. Please look at "ecap_capture_epwm" example in C2000Ware. Even though this only configures one ECAP to timestamp one signal, you can adapt it to capture two signals with two ECAPS. After you have that working, you can synchronize them.

Please start by getting the example to work with capture just one signal. Expand it to two and then add the synchronization.
