TMS320F28069: QEPSTS.FIMF (First index marker flag) not working as expected

The FIMF flag, once set by index pulse, then cleared by software request (by writing a 1 to the field), does not trigger again until after a full device reset (power down in our case).

Can someone confirm this issue also occurs on the TMS320F28069(F/M)? I seem to have this issue, but cannot find it documented in the Errata.

Also, is there a workaround on this MCU, like the DevCfgRegs.SOFTPRES4.bit.EQEP1 suggested in another post?

Hi Rob,

This will be true for the F2806x as well. I'm checking on this information being documented somewhere now.

The SOFTPRESx register doesn't exist on the f2806x (only on newer devices), so this workaround won't apply.

Hi Rob,

The following note will be added to the FIMF bit description in the next TRM revision:

Note: Once this flag has been set, if the flag is cleared the flag will not be set again until the module is reset by a peripheral or system reset.

I am now using the index-pulse interrupt as a workaround, which works in all circumstances I have encountered.
