Hi team,
I have some confusion about the data in following figures.
As the 5.6 figure shown, when the GPIO output low level, the maximum current IOL is 4mA. However, in the 5.1 figure, the range of output current is from -20mA to 20mA, does this mean that the maximum GPIO output current is 20mA?
What's the different of these two variables?
Thanks!
Best Regards/Rayna
The 20 mA number is under Absolute Max Ratings. It is the clamp current. Not the current during normal operation. The note under the table says the following clearly:
These are stress ratings only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under Section 5.4 is not implied.
Hi Hareesh,
I should suggest customer the maximum current IOL is 4mA , when GPIO output low level, to keep GPIO work in normal condition, is that right?
Thanks!

Rayna,
Please take a look at https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/747092. That post in turn refers to a few posts where this topic has been dealt with extensively.
