Hi,

I am using F28069M and DRV8301 boosterpack to drive a LVSERVOMTR ordered from TI , I am confused with the power supply that runs the motor and also suites the boosterpack, as the motor is 60V ? and the boosterpack bare 24V ? please correct my info and give me an advice , which power supply to use.

You may take a look at the specification of the EVM kit and motor, that help you to understand these values. You should use the minimum value of those two recommended values, so you may use a 24V/5A DC power supply.

One more question,

In the drv8301 datasheet its stated in Features
• 6-V to 60-V Operating Supply Voltage Rang e

and in the qsq of the drv8301 its stated in the Features

• Supports 6-24 V and up to 10 A RMS (14 A Peak)

What's the difference between both ?

One is for the DRV8301 device, another one is for the EVM board that should be less than the maximum voltage of the DRV8301 device, and limit to other circuits.

Sorry Yanming I still didn't get it. I have read that Boostxldrv8301 is appropriate if the motor is 6-24V and less than 10A continuous/14A peak current.

Whats the point of having a device that runs at 60V ?

The maximum voltage of the drv8301 device is 60V, but the maximum value of the Boostxldrv8301 board is 24V that limits to the voltage sampling circuit on the board, so you can use the 24V power supply for the Boostxldrv8301 kit.

hi,

when using the 24V/5A power supply while motor is connected to boosterpack, the motor is getting really HOT. when working with either simulink matlab or ccs studio.

What could be the reason for this?

That means the algorithm you designed is not correct for controlling the motor. Make sure that the device configuration codes and motor control algorithm is right before you run the motor.

You might find the motor control example code in motorWare for this kit.
