Hi all,
I have a question: do you see any problem driving axial flux motors with InstaSPIN FOC/MOTION ?
Specifically, I would like to you this kind of product:
magnax.com/technology
Thanks for your answer in advance,
Andras Magyar
InstaSPIN-FOC/Motion can support rotating BLDC/PMSM (PM) or ACI motor. We don't have any idea about the axial flux motors you mentioned above.
Hi Luo,
I think. actually axial flux motor is the same as a surface mount permanent magnet motor the only difference is that they have the stator winding facing axially (along the axis) and the magnets of the rotor is aligned with it. Since these motors are gaining ground recently on the market because of their huge energy density (up to 15 kW/kg) it would be very useful If I also could use them with the INSTASPIN motorkit. Could you please ask other colleagues as well ?
Because in this thread one of your colleagues has already mentioned its feasibility with Instaspin, check it here please:
comtroller for axial flux motor - C2000 microcontrollers forum - C2000™︎ microcontrollers - TI E2E support...
Hi,
Could you please then give me some explanation about the usage of axial motors with instaspin?
I would highly appreciate it.
I could also do a verification with one of your eval boards.
Thanks,
Andras
Sorry, I didn't test any axial motors with instaspin before, so I don't have any idea about this. You might try to run the motor without any changes, I guess it should be OK.
Hi Luo,
Thanks for the answer, I’ll give it a try maybe I can help others with my evaluation because I think this type of motor will belong to the future!
Have a good day,
Andras
