Why does FLASH erase take so long time，more than 2 seconds per sector？

Please note that the latest devices like F2837xD, F2837xS, F2807x, F28002x, F2838x, F28004x have faster erase times.

We have used TMS320F28335 for 8 years. If we want to change this chip. Which one of the F2837x, F2838x, F2807x,F28002x, F28004x can replace TMS320F28335 completely pin to pin. In this case, We don't need to change the hardware design, we don't need to change the source code.
