CCS/TMS320F28379D: BOOT_MODE Pin Configuration

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

when i am looking for boot mode configuration in TRM find pin for SCI_Mode as GPIO84/85 and GPIO28/29.

In lanuchpadxl f28379D manual mentioned SCI_Mode pin as GPIO72/85 is this correct ?

suppose if want implement SCI_Mode on Launchpad XL f28379D is this possible ?

What is the use of wait mode ? what would happen if use wait mode?

In Launchpad xl F28379D  Emulation mode is belongs to which communication  (boot_mode)?

Thanks & Regards,

Rani

  • wait boot and emulation boot are for debug purposes, they cant be used for production system.

GPIO 72 & 84 are used to select the peripheral. once you select SCI boot mode using these pins then you can use the options given in table 4.29 of TRM.

  • Baskaran,

Thanks  for the information about  wait mode & Emulation mode. In TRM mentioned SCI boot pins are GPIO84/85 and GPIO28/29 but launch pad given GPIO72/84 both are correct or is there any mistake? .

    Thanks & Regards,

    Rani

  • both are correct. 72/84 supports SCI functionality, but bootloader functionality is not supported on 72/84.
