TMDSDIM100CON5PK: DIMM 100 pin connector for F28335

Part Number: TMDSDIM100CON5PK

Hello Cody,

I and several others are suffering from this issue. We have several projects relying on F28335 control cards and built in house PCBs and need the connector.

Could you advise us if you have found any source for this connector.

If not please advise what exactly you mean with broker.

Looking forward your reply.

  • Masood,

a broker is simply a entity which buys stock from a manufacture and offers them for sale to their customers. They have several advantages like removing or reducing the minimum order quantity(MOQ), but commonly there is a mark up.

I don't know of specific brokers that have stock, but it would be worth searching. I can get you in contact with my supplier, but the MOQ may be more than you want to purchase. (please send me a private message through the forum if you need this information)

Of course as mentioned in the other thread: I would recommend switching to a newer controlCARD that uses the HSEC style connector. This connector was chosen as it has a very long useable lifetime ahead of it.

    Regards,
    Cody

  • Hi Cody,

    Thanks for your message.

We have our PCBs already designed with this connector and contol card. We have been using this from 2013 and so happy with its performance!

Could you link me with your suppliers please?!

I think this will impact TI credit as this means we have to change our previous designs when they are still working and the TI product still is being offered in the market. I think it was better TI had arranged with Molex or TE to keep their line manufacturing up and running with lower production rate perhaps.

    Looking forward your reply.

  • Masood,

Understood I will "connect" with you through the forum and then send you a private message with the details.

Please under stand that many manufacturers mark parts as EOL over time. We cannot tell other entities how to run their business, or control when they decide to cease production. I can assure you that several companies were contacted as these DIMM 100 connectors went EOL, but ultimately it seems that the companies contacted did not find it profitable to continue production.

    Regards,
    Cody
