TMS320F28388D: COFF format Flash API

Part Number: TMS320F28388D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi,

According to F2838x Flash API Reference Guide, the C28x Flash API and CM Flash API object files are distributed in EABI format.

I need COFF format Flash API and migrate my project from F28377D to F28388D, it is too complex to migrate the huge project from COFF to EABI format, how can we get COFF format Flash API to use please?

  • Vesgine,

    I understand your situation.

Please note:  All of the SW supported in the C2000Ware (e.g. EtherCAT libraries, Ethernet libraries, driverlib, IQMath etc.) for F28388D will be in EABI format.  Also the compiler does not support the newer features like FPU64 and fast integer division in COFF.  These are supported only in EABI.

Hence, we would suggest to consider moving to EABI if possible.  This helps you to get all the support and updates in a timely manner.

If you need any help in moving your application from COFF to EABI, please refer to:  software-dl.ti.com/.../C2000_c28x_migration_from_coff_to_eabi.html

If it is not possible for you to move to EABI for any valid reasons, let us know and we can discuss.

    Thanks and regards,
    Vamsi

  • Our mature product uses the 28377D and the accompanying burn-in software is based on the COFF format API. we need to change the 28377D to 28388D in a short period of time and do not have enough time to develop the burn-in software based on the EABI format.

In the long future we will switch to the EABI format, but in the immediate future we need a fast migration solution.

    Thanks and regards,

    vesgine
