TMS320F280049C-Q1: How to remove jitters in HRPWM

Part Number: TMS320F280049C-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi Expert,

My customer is using F280049C-Q1 and has questions below during their test/development.

Could you please give us the answer ?

--

When we use High-Resolution Period and High-Resolution Control, Jitters (10nsec=1TBLK) happens in PWM pulse output shown in below waveform picture.
  Conditions:
       - Up count mode
       - Control the period and duty with High-resolution.
       - Deadband exists.

Q1) Is the above usage OK for HRPWM ?
Q2) Could you tell us how to remove or reduce the jitters ?

For more detail, please refer to excel files.

  • Hi,

If you are using dead band with High resolution, it's recommended to use Up-Down count mode.
This is because of the restriction of edge placement in 1st 3 cycles of PWM.
Please refer to available examples in C2000ware, with deadband and HR in up-down count mode.
