MSP430G2553: BSLDEMO2.EXE download

Hi,

I plan to use the BSL of the MSP430G2553. If possible I want to start the BSL by software and avoid the use of RTS / DTR. Is it possible to start BSL on the MSP430G2553 by software of MSP430-application and then only use TX and RX lines (P1.1 + P1.5) for download the new software onto the MSM430?

Download BSLDEMO2.EXE:

For BSL-Software I trieed to find and download the BSLDEMO2.EXE but I can' find any place or link where I can download it.

Hi Thomas,

According to SLAU319, MSP430 Flash Devices Boot loader guide, section 1.3.2, a 'software' entry into the boot loader is possible by jumping to location 0x1000.

The BLSDEMO2 is included MSPBSL.

thanks for your answer. So the "BSLDEMO" is the content of MSP430-Boot-ROM?

I tried to start BSL while running application of MSP (cold start at 0x0C00 ...not 0x1000 ...because of MSP430G2553). It branches to 0x0C00 but the next step it branches to 0xC98E. Then after "running" a lot of 0xFFFF the application goes on running. Where is my mestake?
