MSP430F5529: MSP430F5529: Windows not recognize with BSL after a Software Invokation

Have you disable all interrupt before you go into BSL?

Please follow the steps below to make this jump

__disable_interrupt(); // disable interrupts 
((void ( * )())0x1000)(); // jump to BSL

Just received response from customer. See details below.

Im the following code for the BSL invocation: __disable_interrupt(); ((void ( * )())0x1000)(); As described by www.ti.com/.../slau319ae.pdf. I looked at the disassembly via a TI Flash emulation Tool in CCS and it says there's just a 'jmp 0x1000' at 0x1000 causing a loop to itself. Is it possible that by using CCS, the BSL may have been overwritten?

I just received a response from customer, please details below.

I am trying to flash new code to a MSP430F5529 via USB. I know I need to go to BSL via software invocation which I can do. (the prior issue is fixed. It was my ignorance of CDC (ComPorts) vs. HID. But this is related) but the version on the chip can only do RXDataBlockFast, RxPassword, and LoadPc. yes

But when I flash RAM_BSL to @2500 and jump to @2504 (@2500 seems to be version info) I get new connection info through Wireshark but no new device events occur to catch the new HID device to communicate with it. Am I missing something?. I've also attempted to Flash BSL to @1000 but that seems to cause the normal code to be invoked again. I'm kind of confused at this point.

I should say that it does appear that device manager is reacting to the jump though.

The original problem has been solved. I was under the impression that when the HID device connected it would make a new ComPort. I learned that ComPorts and HID devices are completely different protocols so, of coarse no new comports appeared after software invocation.

What's the software do you use in the PC? Do you use the BSL scripter?
