MSP430F5419A: Unable to do debug using IAR Embedded Workbench IDE

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer is developing a system using MSP430F5419A on the IAR Embedded Workbench IDE using his own code. When the RAM goes over about 4KBytes, he can still build the code without errors but can't debug any more. Icons related with debug becomes unavailable. He think this failure might be related with project build options, so he changed the options but was not able to solve the problem. What do you think could be the issue?

Attached are his debugger screen. One is when succeeded, the other is when failed.

Are you sure the size is 4k bytes? MSP430F5419A support 16k bytes.

Can you upload the map file here?

The issue could be that the C runtime initialisation takes longer, and a watchdog reset occurs.

Have you stop the watchdog at beginning to avoid the issue that Chester mentioned?
