MSP430I2040: Connecting the MSP430I2040 to a PC

Part Number: MSP430I2040

Hi,

I want to change the EMDC communication protocol and communicate with another controller through UART to send the voltage/current/energy values.

To do this I want to first try communicating with a PC using a USB to UART converter.

To connect the UART Tx/Rx of MSP430I2040 to the USB to UART converter, I probably need to use the Isolaation board in between the MSP430I2040 and the PC.

Can you tell me the connections between the MSP430I2040 UART and the isolation board and then from the ISOlation board to the USB to UART converter?

Other than the UART tx and Rx and GND pins, should I connect any other pins?

Thirdly from the Isolation board to the USB to UARt converter what are the connections?

Thank you.

regards,

Rajkumar
