MSP430G2452: C# Example Does Not Work

Part Number: MSP430G2452
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-GANG

I am new to MSP Gang and tried the C# example provided with the download but the program is unable to communicate with my device (MCU Init Error 23). I am able to talk to the device through the MSP Gang Programmer GUI - so I know my hardware setup is correct. Can someone share any example C# working code to able able to load and read from the device memory locations (which is what I need to do)? I am using SBW not JTAG. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Soumendu,

So I can better help with this problem, can you point me to the C# example that you downloaded?

  • Thank you Dennis - this is in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\MSP-GANG\Examples\C#-MSP-DLL that installed as part of MGP Gang Installation - see image for folder.

  • Hi Soumendu,

Unfortunately I'm having trouble locating anyone with knowledge about this C# example code.  I can compile the code and will try my best to help you, but I don't have an MSP-GANG at this moment.  It may take me 1-2 days to get one.  In the mean time, have you tried the C++ example to see if it works?    What MSP430 are you attempting to program?

  • Hi Soumendu,

It's been a while since we have heard from you, so I'm going to assume you were able to move forward with your project.

  • Hi Dennis, It was an issue with MFC - which was not installed on my new PC and hence was causing the issue. I think all SW prerequisites should be suggested on the manual. It was the same with C++. It is resolved now. Thank you!
