MSP430FR2476: MSP430FR2476 and MSP430FR2676 binary compatibility when no captouch use

Hi Champs,

 

Could you confirm/warranty that a binary built for MSP430FR2676 (and running ok on MSP430FR2676) and not using captouch, runs ok on MSP430FR2476?

    Hello Guillaume,

    We cannot guarantee 100% binary compatibility as there are features on the MSP430FR2676 that are not shared with MSP430FR2476. In addition to CapTIvate module, MSP430FR2676 also includes driverlib functions in ROM, which MSP430FR2476 does not include. As such, if you are using driverlib, then those binaries compiled for FR2676 will not work on FR2476.  

    If the customer is not utilizing those features, then you should have compatibility of binaries between the devices. As always, it is up to the customer to check and test their software meets their application requirements.
