Is the MSP430F5438A-EP possible to use as more or less drop-in replacement for the MSP430F5438A LQFP (PZ) 100-pins?

The question aims for both electric and code design ...

    Hello TMA,

    I deleted your earlier past as it was a duplicate for this one. 

    To your question, MSP430F5438-EP is nearly equivalent to MSP430F5438A. The difference is the -EP rating which typically includes a wider temperature range allowed during operation.
