MSP430FR5969: bit based access

Hi,

IN the datasheet of MSP430FR5969 I found that this microcontroller is bitwise accessible, but all the example code and library available are bytes accessible only.

Multifunction Input/Output Ports
– Accessible Bit-, Byte-, and Word-Wise (in Pairs)

i need to turn on and off several pins at a particular port, how can i proceed

Using bit wise operations:

To clear a bit and leave the others alone:

P1OUT |= 0b11110111 ;

and so on.

We also include definitions for each bit as well and you see this frequently used in our example code.

for example:

P1OUT |= BIT1 + BIT4;

P1OUT ^= BIT2;
