MSP430I2040: Flashing code to MSP430i2040 IC only using uniflash.

Part Number: MSP430I2040
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH,

Hello Folks,

Currently programming of and metering with the EVM is done.

Presently i wanted to burn the code only to IC where various required pin connection is made out i.e. 3.3V, GND, TCK and TDIO for flashing the code whereas RXD,TXD along with 3.3V,GND for metering are carried outside.

Now for flashing code i did,

1. Connection of daughter board having IC with HID bridge is done.

2. Same code of EVM430i2040s(Pre-stored) selected in Uniflash for flashing.

3. Error occurring - Cannot read property 'DS' of undefined.

So what should be done for flashing code successfully to IC only, also please advise which things have to be considered while metering.

  • Hi Gautam,

Which pin do you connected? If you would like program via SBW interface, you need connet SBWTCK, SBWTDIO, 3.3V, GND:

And select MSP430I2040 device in Uniflash:

If there are still error, please try close Uniflash and re-open again, and you can also try to update Uniflash version or use online Uniflash:

    Thanks!

  • Hello Johnson,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yesterday i succeeded to flash the code to the IC. Now next part is AC metering.

So for same i have connected the same connection that we do for the EVM, in same way i connected the IC board to the isolation board and isolation board to HID bridge & to PC.

But i am not getting any of the results at output(No change at output). So please suggest what should be done to have accurate results.

Also suggest in case of only IC board not EVM we have to connect the isolation board, no ?

  • Hi Gautam,

This is AC metering data question, I recommend you can create a new thread and put this question. This can enroll more expert to discussion.

    Thanks!
