MSP430FR6047: consuming more current than expected

Dear TI team,

We are using MSP430FR6047IPZ for our low power meter, previously it was consuming 3mA but in our new design it is consuming up to 6mA. Both boards are having same components. but still new boards are consuming more current. we have checked the Schematic of both boards, found nothing. even the both boards are running same code.

any solution for this.

Hi Vinayak，

What is the difference between the two boards?

Have you try another device to test the current or try another new board? You could isolate the MCU and compare the board current to test whether there adds some current consumption in the new board.

The major difference is on previous Boards we were using DC-DC IC on it (TPS62740), But now on new Boards we shifted to LDO(TPS7A02). but the thing is even tough we are bypassing the LDO and giving direct supply to the new boards it is consuming up-to 6mA current which is higher than expected. rest of the circuit is same.

Could you post the two schematics of the new board and old board. I could have a review of them.
