MSP430F2370: Which MSL is correct

Hello,

we received pictures of Label for Part MSP430F2370IRHAR. We figured out that there is 2 different MSL Levels. Correct MSL should be MSL 3. But we see MSL 2 on some Labels. I found a PCN which indicate that TI added a new MFG Fab. But there is no info abour different MSL.

DC`s are 2118 and 2106

on both labels we have the info:

(22L) ASO : CDA

(23L) ACO : CHN

Is it possible that TI produced the parts as MSL 2 and 3?

Hello,

Yes, it is possible that some devices will have different MSLs. I entered your part number in the public Moisture sensitivity level search portal, and it shows there are two sites that manufacture these devices. I would also assume that the MSL information provided by the portal indicates the lowest possible MSL at the sites. MSL 2 has better floor life than MSL 3 according to the MSL Ratings and Reflow Profiles document. Another helpful document is the AN-2029 Handling and Process Recommendations app note.
