Hai,

Here, I'm working with MSP430FR5739. In my application my requirement is to read GPIO interrupt continuously, and also need to Receive data using UART. Is it possible if GPIO interrupt is while i'm Receiving data trough UART. This one i have tried but my UART not receiving data, my code is getting struck when i'm using, __bis_SR_register(LPM4_bits + GIE) this.

Hi Shirisha,

Have you created your interrupt service routines (ISR) correctly? Looking at the code examples we provide can help you check for ISR correctness.

Have you tried just doing __bis_SR_register(GIE)? Depending on your system LPM4 could turn off required components; if removing the LPM4 part fixes the issue then try using LPM3 or LPM0 instead.

Can you check the ISR's separately? Run with only the GPIO interrupts, and then run with only the UART interrupts.

Also, make sure to get only one RX character during the interrupt. When doing ISR processing make sure to follow the Rule set by Herbert Hawkins in "The Court Jester":

Thanks for your response, yeah I have checked the interrupts for GPIO's and UART individually it has worked fine. But when was trying together i'm getting a issue that my UART is not receiving the data.

What clock frequency are you using? Does it allow for the amount of processing you do in the GPIO interrupt?

Did you try changing the __bis_SR_register(LPM4+GIE) to just __bis_SR_register(GIE) like I suggested earlier? I suspect the LPM4 mode is turning off your needed clocks for UART. Below are the operating modes taken from the user's guide.
