Hi experts,
My customers has a product that uses MSP430FR2033, but the current consumption at LPM3 is different from the expected value for some boards. Please let me check the datasheet first.
Q1: Do you test all the ICs for "5.4~5.9" in the datasheet before shipping?
Q2: If not at the time of shipment, could you tell us under what conditions the tests are conducted?
For example, randomly pick up several units from mass-produced products and check the average value in each power consumption mode.
The following are the details of the problem.
- Number of units generated: 150/1400. //The situation is still increasing
- Current consumption (VCC=3.3, approx. 25°C): Normal product = approx. 2uA, abnormal product = 10~40uA
- No difference in hardware on board.
- Cross-checking between normal and abnormal products was done, and it was confirmed that the problem was dependent on MSP430.
- Nothing other than ACLK is being used in LMP3.
- Errata did not violate PORT28 and USCI41. //Workaround not yet performed
- Confirmed that there are no write errors. //Checking if the program area has been rewritten in the firmware.
Q3: In the past, have there been any reports of the above-mentioned case where the current consumption during LPM3 becomes abnormal only on some boards?
We are currently investigating the problem by connecting JTAG to the customer's board. Since the package type is TSSOP (DGG), we do not have a target board, and it is difficult to determine if the problem is with the customer's board. I would be grateful if you could give me some information on similar cases and advice on what I should check.
Best regards,
O.H
