Hi, I'm trying to program the MSP430F2617 and the DRV8846 board.

Connecting the board with FET Emulation Tool, the red light nFAULT lights up and I can't load the file .out.

How can I solve this problem?

Hi Stefano,

Generally, there are some hardware issue if the red led lighting.

And could you share more details about this issue? The hardware is EVM board? or Customer Board?

Hi Johnson, the hardware is an EVM board.

The problem is that with the classic .out program the procedure works, copying the same program in a new project and doing the Build All it creates a new .out file that is not able to load and causes the turning on of the red light on nFAUT.

Hi Johnson, the hardware used to connect is the MSP-FET Flash Emulation Tool of the Texas Instruments.

Looks stranger, I think the hardware connect is correct, can you try to download a firmware and test again?

You use USB for power supply, correct?

Hi Johnson, the firmware you mean the one of FET or DRV?

The setup of the photo is of the programming, the power supply is not from USB but with power cable.

Hi Stefano，

I think the hardware connect is correct, thus maybe you can try to download a code.

And if the red light, you can check the power if normal with connected MSP-FET.

Last items you need to check : Does the driver already install normally for MSP-FET? You can check if there are two port(Debug & application) in PC device manager.

Hi Johnson,

I've checked the two ports (Debug & application), and both are present in PC device manager.

I've download a code and it works, it loads correctly on the microprocessor.. The problem is that I can't modify any project, beacuse immediatly the nFAULT led turns red.

I've also tried to change the OS and do the same procedure (with CCS and Uniflash) on Linux, but the problem still persists.

You change the project should don't affect the hardware, just related with CCS, thus is very strange.

You can download the code and run normally, it means that hardware connect is correct.
