MSP430FG6626: OpAmp & CTSD16 example design

Part Number: MSP430FG6626

Hi,

If GSWx bit is set to 1, Is shared GPIO pins unavailable?

For example, When the GSW0 is set to 1, can I use the P7.6/CB10/AD3+/G1SW0 port as P7.6

According to user's guide, if ground switch output is shared with a digital I/O port, the digital I/O port is automatically disabled.

And the Opamp is used in customer's application, It only uses negative input signal.

In this case, How are positive signals connected?

I would like to get an example circuit using OPAMP and CTSD16.

  • Hello,

For your inquiry about the ground switch feature, if it is enabled, you would not be able to utilize the pin associated as all aspect of tat connection are forced to AVSS. See note 4 in table 9-32 in the datasheet for more information about that specific pin.

How the OA is configured is up to the user. See Figure 9-2 in the datasheet for all available internal and external connections for the entire signal chain (OA/CTSD16/DAC).

  • Hi,

I checked pin configuration in datasheet according to your guide.

But I can't find function about OPAMP input channels.

When the OPAMP is enabled, can I use GPIO shared with OPAMP input?

I can't find information in the table.

When the OAM is set to 1, PSW and NSW are closed.

I want to know if GPIO is unavailable when the PSW is closed.

  • Hello,

It depends on your setting of PxSEL.x setting for that pin. This register controls what function is available on the pin to be interacted with outside the MCU. There are some exceptions as you see in the notes on the Pin Function tables. For Pin 6.2, if P6SEL.2 = 0, then it is GPIO function.
