MSP430FR2433: BSL Blank Device Detection feature

Hi team

I'm trying to using BSL Blank Device Detection feature in MSP430FR2433, I erased the entire device and then try to ping the device through IIC but it always failed(NACK). Would you please advice if I missed something? thanks a lot.

BTW, Software BSL Invocation works correctly in my environment.

Two things you need to keep in mind when use this

1. Send the password within 10s. Because the BSL have the 10s timeout feature.

2. When use the msp430-i2cbsl-tool remember to skip the invoke by using -n

You can also try to use BSL scripter with windows by PC.

Yes. I noticed 10s timeout feature in BSL. IIC signal was sent in 4s after VCC up. Please see the setup sequence and the snapshot below.

2. When use the msp430-i2cbsl-tool remember to skip the invoke by using -n

what I do now is using "pi@raspberrypi:~ $ i2ctransfer -y 1 w0@0x48" to detect the IIC slave device @0x48.

Actually I already tried to skip the invode by using -n, but failed and I found that IIC no response(NACK) when the device is blank. while it ACKed successfully if I try software invocation using same command(i2ctransfer -y 1 w0@0x48).

So I don't have further direction now... would you please guide me? thanks a lot.
