Hi,
My customer is considering a CapTIvate touchpad.
The customer's application is metal around the touchpad as shown below.
Is there any information about design guidelines when the area around the pad is metal?
Best regards,
Sasaki

Hello Sasaki-san,
1mm is recommended spacing between the sensor electrodes and any surrounding ground. For this design the metal surface must be grounded to prevent the metal from electrically floating and causing coupling to the the touchpad sensor.
